License Plate

The new Missouri Cattlemen License Plate

Missouri Cattlemen can show their pride in the beef industry while enhancing the lives of Missouri youth.  The proceeds from the first livestock-specific vehicle license plate will benefit the Foundation's three programs:  Cattlemen's Children Fund, Farm Safety and youth education and our scholarships.

The plate's colors and design represent the rich heritage of Missouri's cattle industry and the dawning of a new day in Missouri with a cow silhouetted on the horizon.

The cost of Missouri's Cattlemen Foundation Specialty Plate is $25 per plate, per year minimum donation to MCF, or $50 for a two-year tag in addition to the regular registration fees.  Also, an additional $15 annual personalized plate fee will be made payable to the Missouri Department of Revenue (DOR).

Included in the $15 DOR fee is the opportunity for personalization of your new plate.  It must be a unique configuration of up to 6 characters.  This can be a combination of numbers, letters and/or spaces.  A 'dash' and a 'space' both count towards your character limit.  You are to submit up to 6 different options for personalization.  If your first choice is taken, they will go to the next and on down the line.  If personalization isn't for you, you may keep your current 6 character configuration.  For more details, refer to form DOR-1716.

The donation is deductible because MCF is a 501(c)3 charitable entity.  Check with your tax professional about your specific situation.

The donation will go towards our three mission areas:  Cattlemen's Children Fund, Farm Safety and youth education and scholarships.

To get your specialty plate, complete the required DOR form (DOR-1716) and return it to the MCF office with two separate checks-- the initial $15 DOR check payable to DOR and the $25 per year donation to MCF.

With the MCF specialty plate being a new license plate, Missouri Legislature requires 200 applications must be completed before production can begin.  After the applications are submitted to MCF, your plate should arrive in your designated DOR contract office in 6-8 weeks.  Once production has started, orders will usually take 4-6 weeks.

If you just renewed your plates or are near expiration all you have to do is complete the form DOR-1716 and return the appropriate fees as listed above.  After the new plate is available, it will be sent to your contract office which will then credit you if there is an unused portion on your current plate.

Currently, the MCF plate is available for passenger cars, motorcycles, motor homes, trucks--local 6, 12 & 18, and trucks--beyond 6, 12 & 18.  However, under state statute, trucks in the ton weight class and above--trailers are a different class of vehicle tags--are not eligible for the MCF plate.
