Cattlemen's
Roundup is an annual fundraiser that benefits Missouri's Cattlemen
Foundation's scholarships, farm safety and youth education and the
children's fund. The Roundup features a great social event
with a delicious dinner, auction and dance.
The 2006 Cattlemen's Roundup was
held at the American Legion Hall in St. Joseph, MO on March 18.
The 11th Annual Cattlemen's Roundup has a reputation of great food
and fun and even generates revenue to benefit the youth of Missouri.
In 2006, $23,000 was raised from
the auction of at least 170 items from about 130 local businesses,
national companies and other contributors. The auction items
ranged from quilts to farm implements with western art, toys and
collectibles in between.
Cattlemen's Roundup was possible
due to a partnership of great volunteers from the Andrew, Clinton
and Ray County Cattlemen's Associations and many others.
Besides raising money, great food
such as rocky mountain oysters, ribeye steaks and homemade potato
chips always brings in the crowd. After the auction, guests
visited and danced to the live music from the Clement Brothers Band.
