riders gathered for a great weekend of fun, food and hospitality
Sep. 15-17, 2006, at Eagle Ranch in Collins, MO.
The Charity
Weekend actually got started three weeks before the event.
Bill Creek, a St. Clair County Cattlemen donated a yearling heifer
to the foundation. The heifer was sold at the Wheeler and
Son's Special Cow Sale on Aug. 25 bringing in $10,125 for the
Foundation.
Eagle Ranch
and St. Clair County Cattlemen's Association aimed to please
everyone. The trail ride was accompanied by nice
temperatures and clear skies.
After the
trail ride, young horsemen and other had the opportunity to listen
to Dr. Thomas Lenz from American Horseman, Julie Plaster and Dr.
Wayne Loch during MU Collegiate Horsemen's Junior Horsemanship
Clinic. Topics that were covered included health, nutrition
and general horsemanship along with bits and hoof health.
On Saturday
evening, the prime rib dinner, auction and dance was full of fun and
entertainment. The auction generated $6,152. Featured at
the auction was a custom made saddle, bull sale credits from various
contributors, gift baskets and collectibles.
