Charity Weekend 2006

Over 100 riders gathered for a great weekend of fun, food and hospitality Sep. 15-17, 2006, at Eagle Ranch in Collins, MO.

The Charity Weekend actually got started three weeks before the event.  Bill Creek, a St. Clair County Cattlemen donated a yearling heifer to the foundation.  The heifer was sold at the Wheeler and Son's Special Cow Sale on Aug. 25 bringing in $10,125 for the Foundation.

Eagle Ranch and St. Clair County Cattlemen's Association aimed to please everyone.   The trail ride was accompanied by nice temperatures and clear skies.

After the trail ride, young horsemen and other had the opportunity to listen to Dr. Thomas Lenz from American Horseman, Julie Plaster and Dr. Wayne Loch during MU Collegiate Horsemen's Junior Horsemanship Clinic.  Topics that were covered included health, nutrition and general horsemanship along with bits and hoof health.

On Saturday evening, the prime rib dinner, auction and dance was full of fun and entertainment.  The auction generated $6,152.  Featured at the auction was a custom made saddle, bull sale credits from various contributors, gift baskets and collectibles.
